Polestar aspires to challenge the current EV market, and they are doing so very ambitiously, to say the least.
At the beginning of the next year, they are delivering the first Polestar 3, the brand’s debut, to a highly competitive SUV market.
That will not be the only SUV Polestar offers.
The Polestar 4 is the more sport-oriented SUV in their model range, coming with a much sportier design and perhaps performance.
While it is expected to be released in 2023, there is already considerable interest in the Polestar 4 and all the upcoming Polestar models.
This news article will cover the Polestar 4 and its specification, design, price, and more.

Polestar 4 Release Date
Polestar’s 2021 Annual Report noted the following: “We plan to launch three new models, one per year to 2024”.
Considering the Polestar 3’s launch date is in October this year, it would make sense that the Polestar 4 will be launched in 2023.
The first delivery would presumably be at the end of 2023 or the beginning of 2024.
This will also enable them to compete with the fully electric Porsche Macan and Audi Q6 e-tron, as they are planned to release around 2023.
Competing with these two brands goes in hand with the ambitions of Polestar and their CEO, Thomas Ingenlath, who has said they want to compete with premium brands such as Porsche.
Polestar 4 Price
Considering that Polestar has not released much information regarding the price, we may only speculate about the price. However, we do have some indications when it comes to the pricing.
The most significant indication for the cost of the Polestar 4, is the price of its relative – the Polestar 3.
While the Polestar 3 offer a different design, the Polestar 4 is essentially a Polestar 3 with a sportier profile.
Typical to the automotive industry, “coupés” or sportier versions tend to cost more, even though the only difference lies in the exterior design.
For example, the Porsche Cayenne and the Coupé version have a price difference of $10,000.
It may be that additional equipment comes with the sportier version. For example, the Polestar 4 may come with bigger rims than Polestar 3 and a standard sports package.
Polestar 4 Specs
The Polestar 4 will most likely mimic the specifications of the Polestar 3.
Still, there is also a possibility that Polestar will focus more on performance giving the 4 a greater range and acceleration.
Regarding technology, the Polestar 4 will most likely offer autonomous highway piloting, just like the Polestar 3.
Considering the sporty design, Polestar 4 will probably be offered with a dual-motor setup, but it would not be surprising if a version with a single motor came to light.
The Polestar 3 range has a range of 372 miles (WLTP). Until the Polestar 4 gets released, they will probably pump these numbers up with new batteries, updated software, or both.
Polestar 4 Design
The video above gives a good waypoint of Polestar’s vision and design language throughout the model ranges.
Unfortunately for Polestar 4, it is the only one covered at the end of the video; however, we see a few exciting details.
The thing that stands out the most is the taillight, which is slightly different from Polestar 3 and more like the Polestar 5, which is to the right of Polestar 4.
One thing that is dramatically different from the Polestar 3 is the extremely sloped roofline, giving the impression of a sportier model compared to the Polestar 3.
As for now, that is everything we know about the Polestar 4 in terms of design.
But staying true to the Polestar DNA, it is expected for Polestar 4 to have a similar interior as Polestar 3 (which in turn is inspired by Polestar Precept).
It is also more than likely that the Polestar 4 will come with their recognizable Thor headlights, albeit they may come in a slightly different version, such as the headlights seen in the Polestar 5.
Polestar 4 News
With the Polestar 3 just around the corner, the news for the Polestar 4 has been sparse.
Considering the Polestar 4 will be on the same platform as the Polestar 3, we will probably find out more about the Polestar 4 as soon as the 3 gets launched in October this year.
After the launch, the main focus will probably be on the Polestar 4, as it is the model closest to its launch date.
Whatever the case, we will continuously update you about everything that has to do with Polestar 4 here in this article, so be sure to check back once in a while!
